Comprising a transmitter that mounts onto the camera and a receiver with a hotshoe for attaching a flashgun, this Captur trigger set offers a wireless range of 100m.
The two units are synced with automatic frequency channel matching, which helps keep operation intuitive, though the inability to select a channel manually may frustrate some. The set isn’t TTL compatible, so flash power control is manual only, and there’s no pass-through for a flashgun on top of the transmitter. However, the kit can double-up as a remote shutter release using the supplied adapter cable. In this format a half-press of the transmitter’s top button focuses the camera, while a full-press trips the shutter from distance. Both parts are powered via two AA batteries, making replacements easily available. Additional receivers can be bought for £40. Well priced and well manufactured, it’s a good, though relatively basic, option.
