Pawel is a Polish-born landscape photographer living in a small village just north of Dublin. The judges were mesmerised by the gorgeous light, lush colours and incredible sense of depth in his winning shot. And there’s not a marauding soldier in sight!

After a long absence from photography Steve picked up a camera again in 2012 and hasn’t looked back. He won categories in the 2016 and 2017 British Wildlife Photography Awards and was a finalist in the International Garden Photograph of the Year 2015.
