Vanguard VEO 235AB

Here's our review of the versatile Vanguard VEO 235AB

The first of our more traditional tripods is also one of the least expensive, which is surprising given its versatility. The VEO 235AB was designed with portability in mind and, as such, its weight is a very credible 1.5kg, with a load capacity of 6kg and folded length of 38cm. Each aluminium leg has three angle options and there are five leg sections.

The main attraction for macro fans is the 180° swinging column. This lets you change the orientation of your camera from the maximum height of 145cm to work from the underside of the tripod all the way down to the ground – albeit upside down. But don’t let this put you off, as working at this angle is easy thanks to the versatile TBH-50 ball head.

The VEO’s feet have hidden spikes for extra grip, adding to its overall stability, and the 6kg capacity is also very impressive given its weight and compact size.
