The Hero4 Silver is the second-most advanced action cam in GoPro’s range.
It’s the first of its cameras to feature a built-in touch display, so image composition and settings controls are considerably easier. The GoPro shoots 4K video at 15fps, 2.7K video at 30fps, and Full HD (1080p) video at 60fps. There’s also HD (720p) at 120fps, for smooth 4x slow-mo. The camera can shoot 12MP stills at a lightning-fast 30fps, far faster than any camera in test, and it has a time-lapse mode with 0.5-60sec intervals. The Hero4 also boasts the best waterproof functionality, being able to operate at an incredible 40m depth, which is ideal for scuba diving. With an ISO range of 100-6400, ultra low light shooting is possible, and the new Night Photo and Night Lapse modes offer exposure settings of up to 30 seconds for single and time-lapse shots. The Hero4 has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for controlling the camera remotely via a smartphone or tablet, or using a separate Smart Remote. Included in the box are two adhesive mounts, and GoPro’s video editing software.
