This entry-level action cam with 1/2.3in sensor is one of six adventure-proof models in the Sony line-up.
It comes with a waterproof case for shooting at depths of up to 5m, and it’s also shockproof from drops of 1.5m. Fitted with a Zeiss Tessar f/2.8 lens, the AS30V offers a 170° field-of-view, or 120° if you have the electronic SteadyShot system active for vibration-free footage. Full HD (1080p) video can be recorded at 60fps for smooth 2x slow-mo, or there’s HD video (720p) at 120fps for 4x slow-mo. 11.9MP stills are also possible, and there’s a time-lapse mode built in. The AV30V comes with Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity, allowing you to use your smartphone or tablet as a remote viewfinder or controller. GPS is also built in, plotting location, trail information and speed. So if you’re a skier or mountain biker, you can review and analyse your route in detail when you get home. You can even have the information overlaid on your final video. Two adhesive mounts are included. The AS30V retails
